Black River Memorial Holiday Tea
A visit from Santa is always a high point at the Black River Memorial Hospital Partner's Holiday Tea. The event also includes a chance to sample holiday treats at the tea table, a silent auction of donated items from the community, a raffle, an opportunity to shop for Christmas presents at the Partners run gift shop, and a bake sale featuring everything from multiple flavors of scones to homemade dog treats for a person's furry kids.

The elf in the background is Jen Mattson, who is a Partner member. She is one of the many Partner members whose efforts make the Holiday Teas a great community event and a major fundraising success.

We had a wonderful meeting July 13. There was a festive atmosphere in spite of the heat. We did not hold an official board meeting. We celebrated new members of which we have a record number - 19 this year, with 3 months to go, (last year we had 6 for the whole year) and we promoted our big fall fundraiser with demonstrations and projects in progress.

Rusk County Memorial HospitalEach bulb on the tree holds a special meaning for a loved one. A white light is in memory of someone who has passed. A blue light is in honor of someone who has served in the military. A red or green light is in honor of the living. The tree remained lit outside the front entrance to the hospital’s Riverside Clinic, visible from Wis. 27, through the holidays. |
